Premium Articulated Beast Fleye (Stainless Steel Shanked Extension)

This is a version of Bob Popovics beast fleye design but is tied on stainless steel shanks instead of the traditional mono extension. This method of tying is inspired by Blane Chockletts gamechanger platform except features less shanks and embraces longer and softer materials which gives an action somewhere in between the snakey motion of a gamechanger and the undulating seductive look of Bob’s original beast fly. The premium version of this fly that I offer features select saddle hackle feathers and flashabou for the tail, a countershaded color scheme finished with an ample amount of extra long peacock herl, keel weight on the bend of the hook to help with weight balancing and to keep the fly riding hook point down and color on top, as well as features a very durable UV resin head with extra large 15mm realistic holographic eyes. This pattern is tied on Ahrex SA290 Bob Popovics signature hooks. The 8/0 version is 12" long and the 4/0 version is 9" long. I find this pattern to have the best action and to be the most durable of all the large baitfish patterns I offer. These flies and the way I tie it has served me very well over the years for trophy striped bass but are great for any species that eats big bait.
